My Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
Tomorrow, Thursday May 30th, marks the Feast of the Ascension, a HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION for our Church. Mass times can be found below. Instead of writing you a “simple reminder” of Mass times, I want to take this time to briefly highlight this important Feast Day. What is Ascension Thursday?
Ascension Thursday is one of those days “squeezed” in between Easter and Pentecost, but this does not make it of any less importance to the Church. Rather, it is of utmost importance. To better understand this Feast Day, I would like to take an artistic approach. Let us, together, lead with beauty…
You may have seen various pictures depicting Jesus’ Ascension into heaven. Some can be underwhelming; however, some, like the one above, can be so profound that you want to “jump into the photo” and grasp His feet, ascending with Him in to Heaven. Perhaps this latter emotional desire is how we should feel – we should desire to grasp on to Him and have Him lead us to heaven. Do you feel this way? Do not worry if you do – it is a “normal” feeling for Intentional Disciples.
