To receive the many graces of Divine Mercy Sunday we are asked to go to Confession, be sincerely sorry for our sin, pray the Chaplet, venerate the Divine Mercy Image, and receive the Eucharist on Divine Mercy Sunday.
In a series of revelations to Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska in the 1930s, our Lord called for a special feast day to be celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. Today, we know that feast as Divine Mercy Sunday, named by Pope St. John Paul II at the canonization of St. Faustina on April 30, 2000.
Prayed on ordinary rosary beads, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is an intercessory prayer that extends the offering of the Eucharist, so it is especially appropriate to use it after having received Holy Communion at Holy Mass.
"I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy. Through the Chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My will."
