Come visit our newly landscaped Grotto Garden, granted by SOWE and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay!

Thanks to the relationship our maintenance manager, Sean Domencic, has with the South West Community (SOWE) and his connection with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay representative, Emily Broich, Saint Joseph Church was given the opportunity to have our grotto area professionally designed and landscaped at no expense to St. Joseph’s.

“The church garden across from the Adoration Chapel has been entirely relandscaped thanks to a generous grant of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, a connection made through SOWE. Over the last century, invasive imported plants have contributed to the decline of beloved local wildlife, like birds and butterflies. But our new plants and flowers are all native, which means our garden contributes to restoring Lancaster’s ecosystem and God’s creation to its full beauty. Special thanks to Emily Broich from the Alliance.”
